INTRODUCTION

The Edinburgh law School is offering SKO Family Law Scholarship for pursuing postgraduate research (LLM by research and PhD) programme. International applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship. University offers a number of general and subject-specific funding schemes. The aim of the scholarships is to attract the best and most motivated people to Edinburgh. The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotlands ancient universities. The universitys mission is the creation, dissemination and curation of knowledge. Candidates can only apply for a scholarship once they have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) to join the MBA programme and have either firmly accepted the offer or be intending to do so. University accepts all of the English language qualifications for entry to the university, including IELTS qualifications from any IELTS test centre.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Scholarship is available for pursuing Postgraduate research (LLM by research and PhD) programme. Scholarship is awarded in Family Law at the University of Edinburgh Law School. The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship: The scholarship is open to anyone who, by the start of the Degree Programme, holds an Honours or Masters Degree in law (or equivalent) and who has already been offered and accepted a place for LLM by Research or PhD study by the University of Edinburgh. Nationality: International applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

CAREER PROSPECTS

College Admission Requirement Entrance Requirements: The minimum basic admission requirement for the LLM by research degrees is UK Upper Second Class (2:1) honours degree or its international equivalent, in Law or Social Sciences. If you have a non-UK degree, please check whether your degree qualification is equivalent to the minimum standard before applying. English language Requirements: If your first language is not English, you will be required to show that you have obtained one of the following: Grade 7 in the British Councils IELTS test (with at least 6.5 in each section) 100 in the TOEFL internet-based test (with no score lower than 23 in each section) Grade B in the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English Grade A in the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English 67 in the Pearson Test of English (with no score lower than 61 in each of the Communicative Skills sections -Enabling Skill section scores are not considered).

PAY PACKAGE

The scholarship is for �£2000 per annum. The scholarship is awarded for one year in the first instance, and in the case of a PhD scholarship, will be renewed annually for a further two years, subject to satisfactory progress. Where a student is admitted to the LLM by research programme and successfully converts to the PhD programme (in accordance with the University requirements), the scholarship will be awarded for a further two years, subject to satisfactory progress.
